Viktor Hovland at Alba’s hole 15 activation during Wright Invitational 2026.
Founded by Kevin André Wright, Wright Invitational has grown into Norway's best-known charity golf event. The tournament is played each year at Kragerø Golf Club, with Kragerø Resort hosting the wider weekend programme. This year's event took place on 4 July, marking Wright Invitational's fifth anniversary and bringing together professional golfers, athletes and business leaders from Norway and abroad for a weekend of golf, community and fundraising.
Alba was represented both on and off the course. While the Alba flight competed in the tournament, the Alba activation at hole 15 welcomed a steady stream of visitors, with competitions, giveaways and conversations giving visitors plenty of reasons to stop by.

Friday: where the weekend begins
Although the tournament didn’t begin until Saturday, much of the weekend’s atmosphere took shape on Friday.
Players, sponsors and partners arrived at Kragerø Resort, with many heading out for a practice round. The relaxed pace gave guests time to reconnect, meet new people and enjoy the course before the competition got underway.
That evening, guests gathered by the waterfront for a welcome dinner, followed by a beach party, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.

Saturday: more than a tournament
By Saturday morning, the course had come to life. More than a traditional golf tournament, Wright Invitational combines competition with hospitality, entertainment and sponsor activations, creating an experience that extends well beyond the golf itself. Every part of the course had something happening, giving visitors plenty of reasons to stay, explore and take part throughout the day.
Inside the Alba Hole
From the beginning, we wanted hole 15 to feel like part of the tournament rather than a traditional sponsor stand.
We also ran a best drive and worst drive challenge, with prizes provided by Callaway. The longest drive won a new Callaway driver, while the shortest took home a Callaway wedge.
Players could purchase a mulligan for NOK 300, with the proceeds going to charity.

Authentic content travels further
During the tournament, we captured the atmosphere through interviews and reactions. In one clip, we asked Viktor Hovland to recreate the sound of his golf shot before hitting one himself. The clip has since generated more than 460,000 views on Instagram.

The clip worked because it was simple and spontaneous. A good question and an authentic reaction can help an event reach a much wider audience.

The evening banquet
After the final round, everyone gathered for dinner, prize-giving and a charity auction. With the Alba flight finishing tied for third, the focus shifted from competition to celebration and fundraising.
For many first-time visitors, the banquet is one of the most memorable parts of the weekend, offering a chance to reflect on the tournament while supporting the cause behind it.

Giving back through golf
Ahead of the 2026 tournament, Wright Invitational had raised nearly NOK 5.5 million in total for the Norwegian Organ Donation Foundation and Rikshospitalet’s Heart Fund. The previous single-year record stood at NOK 1.5 million, while organisers set a fundraising target of NOK 2 million for 2026, with the final fundraising total yet to be confirmed.

Key takeaways for venue operators
What made Wright Invitational memorable was how the different parts of the weekend came together. The golf, hospitality, side competitions and conversations around the course each added to the overall experience.
Indoor golf venues can apply the same principle to member evenings, simulator leagues and tournaments. Side competitions, live leaderboards, food and drink packages and a shared prize-giving can add structure and variety without making the format unnecessarily complicated.
The key is to keep participation simple. Clear registration, start times, team formats and scoring make events easier for guests to understand and for staff to manage.
