If you give lessons through Alba, you can sell gift cards for your instruction time. Someone buys a gift card from your page, and the recipient puts it towards lessons with you.
Turning it on
Go to your instructor settings, then Gift cards, and switch on gift card sales. Once it's on, a gift card option appears on your public products page.
Default expiry
Under Default gift card expiry, choose 1 year from purchase, 2 years from purchase, 3 years from purchase, or Never expires. This applies to gift cards customers buy from your page, and only affects new purchases.
How customers buy one
Customers buy from your instructor page and choose the amount. They get an email with a PDF and a code, which they can keep or pass on. The purchase page shows Expires based on your setting (for example 1 year or Never).
How it gets redeemed
Gift cards bought from your page can only be used for lessons with you, not for bay bookings or other instructors. The recipient enters the code at checkout when booking a lesson with you.
The first time the code is used, the gift card links to that person's Alba account, so they can see the balance and history. If a lesson costs more than the remaining balance, they can pay the difference with another method.
