Sometimes Alba may ask you to test a preview build of SimLock, or install a specific version to help with troubleshooting. When this is set up for your venue, the SimLock page under Settings shows a different installation guide instead of the normal setup flow.
You cannot turn this on yourself. Alba support enables it on your venue and assigns which preview version to install.
What you will see
Go to Settings > SimLock in the admin panel. If preview mode is active, the page shows a badge labelled Beta version / troubleshooting and step-by-step instructions for the assigned build.
Step 1: Uninstall the current SimLock version
- Open Windows settings and go to Add or remove programs.
- Search for SimLock.
- Select SimLock and uninstall it.

Step 2: Install the assigned preview version
On the SimLock settings page, check which version has been assigned. Use the Download button to get that build, then install it on every simulator computer where it should be tested.
Repeat this on each simulator that needs the preview version.
Step 3: Return to the production version
When testing or troubleshooting is finished, uninstall the preview version using the same steps as in step 1. Then download and install the normal production version from albaplay.com/download.
